Reliance jio Welcome offer ending on 3rd December 2016

Reliance Jio Welcome Offer will end on 3 December 2016 now. Reliance Jio, a VoLTE mobile network operator in India, is again in big news. This time it’s because of the TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) which ordered the company to end the free services by Jio on December 3. Reliance Jio provides wireless 4G LTE service network (without 2G/3G based services) and is currently the only VoLTE operator in the country, with coverage across all 22 telecom circles in India.










As we all know, the Reliance Jio company commercially launched its services on 5 September 2016 led by none other than the India’s richest man and billionaire Mukesh Ambani, led by Reliance Industries. As soon as the news of Jio Sim Launch spread, everyone in the country went mad to grab atleast one Jio Sim. Within the first month of commercial operations, Jio announced that it had acquired 16 million subscribers.

Though this is the fastest ramp-up by any mobile network operator anywhere in the world, the research led by TRAI points something else. According to TRAI, the Jio 4G network is providing the slowest download speeds in the country among the top 5 telecom operators including Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Reliance etc. The average 4G download speed by Reliance Jio was noted down to be 6.2Mbps only.

And here comes the biggest news of all, TRAI now ordered the company – “The revised offer of free services by Reliance Jio has been limited to 90 days i.e. December 3, 2016 and therefore is consistent with the guidelines on promotional offers“.



This means the people who will now purchase the Jio Sim, will get the Reliance Jio Welcome Offer subscription till December 3, 2016 only. Though, the benefits of free unlimited voice calling and data will be available to all subscribers upto December 31, 2016. But the Reliance Jio Welcome Offer will be limited to new consumers till December 3, 2016. For those who haven’t subscribed for services till December 3 will be able to subscribe to new offers as well as tariff plans that are available from Jio.

As of now, the company didn’t clarified the tariffs which is to be charged to users taking services after December 4. But TRAI made it assured that it would continue to keep a close watch on the tariffs being offered in the market by all players, including Reliance Jio.
